Butt fusion melts two HDPE pipe ends together into a strong, leak-proof joint. We supply the hydraulic butt fusion and electrofusion machines that do it.
Both pipe ends are trimmed square and clamped in line.
A heater plate softens the ends until a bead of melt forms.
The plate comes out quickly, before the ends cool.
The ends meet under pressure and cool into one continuous joint.
